Audio Processing

How much background noise is turned down between your words. Gentle never silences you; stronger settings remove more noise. If people say your words are cut off, choose a gentler setting.

Lets quiet words and the ends of words through even when noise reduction is on, and keeps the browser's own noise suppression (which can cut words) off at Strong.

Off by default, so your microphone stays at the level you set. Turn it on only if you want the browser to raise and lower your microphone level by itself.

Automatic turns monitoring on when your microphone and your output are the same headset or headphones, and off otherwise. Monitoring is always silent while your microphone or the room sound is off, and comes back when you turn them on again.

Keys: push to talk, PA, whisper and menus

A short tone plays when you start and stop. Talking in the room itself uses the Microphone switch (Control+Shift+M), or hold a push to talk key. Key choices stay on this device; the timing choices follow your account.

Spoken Announcements

Off by default. Your screen reader already reads every VoiceLink announcement, so leave this off if you use one, or you will hear two voices at once. Turn it on only if you want spoken announcements without a screen reader.

Whispers

On by default. An agent in your room (such as Clawdia) may whisper something just to you; you hear the usual whisper start and end sounds, and your microphone stays as it is. Turn this off and agents can't whisper to you; they can still talk to the room or send you a message.

Update and Error Reports

Tells our server when VoiceLink hits an error, with a random install number (not linked to your account), the app version, your browser and a short error description. Never your messages, contacts, files, passwords or user name.
